According to Tuttosport, Atalanta has initiated direct contacts for the contract renewal of 25-year-old Italian goalkeeper Marco Carnesecchi. Carnesecchi currently earns about 1 million euros per year, with his contract set to expire in June 2028. Atalanta intends to act early to extend his contract, partly to deter interest from major Italian and foreign clubs attracted by his performances, and to adjust his salary to match his current importance in the squad. If an agreement is reached, the contract would be extended to 2030, with his salary increased to 2-2.5 million euros net per year. The goalkeeper, who joined the club in July 2019, has made 23 appearances in Serie A this season. According to Transfermarkt, he has a current market value of €25.00m. He has yet to be capped by the Italian national team. Inter and Juventus are among the clubs to have been recently linked with him.
