Globo.com reports that Portuguesa has agreed to loan Brazilian midfielder Marcelo Freitas to Caxias until the conclusion of the Série C of the Brazilian Championship. The 31-year-old had limited opportunities at Portuguesa, where he struggled with physical problems, and is moving to Caxias do Sul to get more playing time. The Portuguesa board expects the player to get more minutes and regain his match rhythm with the new team. Freitas's contract with Portuguesa, also known as Lusa, runs until mid-2027.
