West Ham United are monitoring RC Lens midfielder Mamadou Sangare. They face competition for the 23-year-old, as Manchester United are reportedly the leading club in the pursuit of him. According to sources close to the player, he is excited by the prospect of joining United and considers them his preferred destination. Chelsea and Tottenham are also monitoring the situation and are prepared to make an offer in January or later. It is said that Lens are reluctant to sell during the middle of the season while they are challenging for the title, but a substantial offer for the player, who is valued at around €15m, could persuade them. Any formal bids for Sangare are expected to be delayed until mid-January due to his participation with Mali, for whom he has 9 caps, in the Africa Cup of Nations. He joined Lens from Rapid Vienna in August 2025 for a fee reported to be €8 million, and his contract runs until June 2030. In the current Ligue 1 season, Sangare has made 15 appearances, scoring one goal and providing one assist.
