According to reports in France, Liverpool sporting director Richard Hughes is ready to address the club’s midfield issues by signing agreements for Lens’ Mamadou Sangare. Liverpool have identified Camara and Sangare as replacements for Alexis Mac Allister. Sangare was signed by Lens from Rapid Vienna last August for a fee of €8m, and his club is hopeful of a €50m fee. His ETV is €11.2m.

According to journalist Nicolo Schira, Mamadou Sangaré is being monitored by Liverpool. Lens acquired Sangaré for 8 million euros last summer, and the club could make a significant profit if he is sold.

Liverpool are understood to be considering Lens' 23-year-old Malian international midfielder Mamadou Sangare as one of four potential targets to strengthen their midfield for new manager Arne Slot. The club is reportedly seeking to add energy and dynamism. Sangare is viewed as a player who can provide the tenacity and forward drive required by the manager's system. Sangare and Lamine Camara, a fellow Ligue 1 player from Monaco, have impressed Liverpool scouts. Sangare joined Lens in August 2025 and is under contract until 2030. The midfielder has 15 caps for Mali. According to Transfermarkt, he has a current market value of €30.00m. He has also attracted interest from several Premier League clubs, including Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea.
