East Kilbride manager Mick Kennedy has made his first signing for the club's upcoming season in League One by acquiring former Hibs midfielder Malik Zaid from Edinburgh City for an undisclosed fee. The League Two champions had been working with Edinburgh for several weeks to complete the deal for the 21-year-old Libyan player, who they had identified early on. Zaid, who made 36 appearances and scored three times for Edinburgh City this season, will officially join when the summer transfer window opens. As part of the agreement, he will first play for Edinburgh City in their upcoming pyramid play-off final to help them attempt to avoid relegation. Kennedy said he was delighted to sign the midfielder, whom he described as a gifted player who will fit well into their structure.
