According to portal widzewtomy.net, Piast Gliwice is interested in acquiring 22-year-old Polish goalkeeper Maciej Kikolski, who has not been playing regularly for Widzew Łódź. The transfer could happen immediately as a medical transfer due to an injury to Piast's goalkeeper, František Plach. However, Widzew's coach, Aleksandar Vuković, will not approve Kikolski's departure until he is certain that Bartłomiej Drągowski has overcome his own health problems. The deal is further complicated by the fact that Piast is a rival to Widzew in the competition to avoid relegation, a factor being seriously considered. If the move were to be a loan, one option is to include a clause that would prohibit Kikolski from playing in the 34th round match between the two clubs. Kikolski, who joined Widzew in July 2025 and has a contract until June 2029, has made 9 appearances in the Ekstraklasa this season and has a current Transfermarkt market value of €500k.
