Ludogorets attempted to sign 21-year-old Mario Stroeykens from RSC Anderlecht on a loan deal that included an option to buy. Anderlecht is interested in the deal and hopes the player will reconsider, but Stroeykens, a Belgian and DR Congo national, is not interested in moving to Bulgaria. Transfer journalist Sacha Tavolieri reports that the midfielder does not view the transfer favorably. This follows a summer window in which Anderlecht rejected several other offers for the player, who had also attracted interest from clubs like Ajax and Parma, though no agreement was reached. He joined Anderlecht in January 2021 and has a contract until 2028. According to Transfermarkt, his current market value is €4.50m. Reports from August 2026 indicated an asking price of €6 million, a decrease from the €15-20 million sought in late 2024 and early 2025.
