Luquinhas Transfer from Fortaleza to Legia Warszawa

Luquinhas, who previously played for Legia Warszawa from 2019 to 2022, is currently on loan from Fortaleza with an option to buy. Legia Warszawa's sporting director, Michał Żewłakow, has expressed an intention to negotiate a lower purchase price than the one million euro stipulated in the transfer agreement, citing the player's limited resale potential. The club is hesitant to pay such a high fee and will attempt to reduce the cost of the permanent transfer.

Luquinhas is currently on loan from Fortaleza, Brazil. Legia Warszawa is considering a permanent transfer, with an option to buy for nearly one million euros. Michał Żewłakow, the new sporting director, has expressed doubts about the financial viability of the transfer, weighing the option of buying a younger player instead. Discussions are expected to take place soon to decide on the matter.

Luquinhas, originally joined Legia Warszawa in 2019, was sold to New York Red Bulls in early 2022 for over three million euros. He returned to Poland last summer on loan from Fortaleza. Legia Warszawa has an option to buy him for 930 thousand euros. Journalist Tomasz Ćwiąkała expressed doubts about the purchase, citing financial problems and the need for new transfers. Mais.opovo.com.br suggested the permanent transfer is close to completion.

Legia Warszawa had some reservations about acquiring Luquinhas from Fortaleza. Nonetheless, 'O Povo Mais' reported that the finalization of the Brazilian midfielder's transfer is anticipated to move forward. Luquinhas initially joined Legia in 2019, demonstrating considerable promise, which resulted in a transfer to New York Red Bulls for over three million euros. Following an unfruitful period at Fortaleza, he returned to Legia on loan, with a buyout clause of about one million euros. Despite some skepticism stemming from alterations in sports management and doubts expressed by Michał Żewłakow, the transfer is expected to be completed for roughly 930 thousand euros.

Legia Warszawa is contemplating whether to purchase Luquinhas for one million euros, as they remain unconvinced despite his impressive performance. Should he return to Fortaleza, it is expected that he would be loaned out again due to the team's limited capacity. Luquinhas initially moved to Legia Warszawa on loan following an unsatisfactory period at Fortaleza, where his transfer did not sit well with fans and the coach. Although he has shown improved form at Legia, scoring 11 goals and providing 3 assists in 37 matches, the club is reluctant to finalize the transfer. At the same time, Fortaleza seems disinterested in keeping him, indicating that he may not play for them again. Given that Fortaleza's squad comprises over 30 players, Luquinhas would probably face another loan if he returns.
