Midfielder Ludovit Reis was signed by Club Brugge from Hamburger SV last summer for 6 million euro plus 1 million euro in potential bonuses. Reis has had a disappointing first season in Belgium, and there are doubts about his future. According to Het Nieuwsblad, a question has arisen as to whether Reis will be able to regain a place in the team or if he will leave Club Brugge after only one year. Since Ivan Leko became coach, Reis's standing in the team has lowered and he was not included in the squad for the last five league matches.

According to Het Laatste Nieuws, Ludovit Reis had to stay aside during the last training session at home before the match against Atlético. It currently seems that manager Leko does not believe in Reis as a successor to Onyedika or Stankovic when they possibly move up. Reis might leave again, and in his case, a significant part of his investment can probably still be recovered.

Club Brugge paid six million for 25-year-old Dutch midfielder Ludovit Reis from HSV. Reis underwent surgery and played only ten times before the new year. Since his return from injury, Reis has not re-established himself in the squad and was omitted from the match squad against Cercle Brugge. Ivan Leko confirmed that Reis's omission was for sporting reasons and not due to illness or other problems. Reis has 17 caps for the Netherlands U21 team and is under contract until June 2029.
