Globo.com reported that Lucas Freitas was contacted by New York City during the last transfer window, but the offers were turned down because he wishes to stay at Vasco.

New York City from the MLS has proposed a one-year loan with a purchase option for Lucas Freitas, a 25-year-old defender from Vasco. The decision to release the player belongs to Vasco, which plans to first establish its next technical commission before discussions.
