Benfica has identified Lucas Ferreira, a Brazilian winger at Shakhtar, as the main candidate to replace Dodi Lukebakio. It is reported that the Ukrainian club is ready to release the player for 18 million euros. This sum is the key condition for starting substantive negotiations between the parties.

In January, Shakhtar rejected a €12 million offer from Benfica for 20-year-old Lucas Ferreira, a move that was reportedly desired by Mourinho. During the same period, the Danish club Midtjylland also had a €10 million offer for the Brazilian winger rejected by Shakhtar. Ferreira joined Shakhtar in August 2025 and his contract runs until June 2030. According to Transfermarkt, his current market value is €7.00m.
