A move for left-back Lucas Brumme to second-tier side SC Paderborn is off the table. Brumme had been identified as a potential successor for Raphael Obermair, who is reportedly a target for Köln. The 25-year-old German, however, only recently signed a contract extension with Rot-Weiss Essen in May, a deal that now keeps him at the club until 2027 and came after he attracted attention from other teams over the summer. Paderborn's sporting director, Sebastian Lange, confirmed the news to the "Neuen Westfälischen," describing Brumme as an "interesting player" who had a strong prior campaign but affirmed he would not be joining. Transfermarkt currently lists the player with a market value of €325k.
