According to Tuttomercato, Napoli will separate from Lorenzo Lucca in the winter. The player is not favored by either Antonio Conte or the new coach Massimiliano Allegri. Another striker will arrive at Napoli, with Keinan Davies being a target, and Lucca can leave, possibly on loan.

Giovanni Manna, the sporting director of Napoli, referred to not being able to free up space in the squad, alluding to there being little market for Lorenzo Lucca after the last disappointing season. The few requests received for the player were mostly for loans and were immediately declined.

Tuttomercato reported that Massimiliano Allegri would have been willing to sell Lorenzo Lucca to acquire Gabriel Jesus. The recently closed transfer window was described for Napoli as a situation of wishing for things but being unable to act.

According to Tuttomercato, Napoli has concerns about Lucca's ability to strengthen their attack, with the player said not to offer strong guarantees for the club's offense.
