According to Récord, Necaxa has officially announced the signing of Argentine midfielder Lorenzo Faravelli to build the squad for a new competitive period. Faravelli's arrival was finalized through a swap deal that involves fellow Argentine Agustín Palavecino leaving the Rayos team to join the cement team. The club formally welcomed its new signing on digital platforms.

According to Récord, Argentine midfielder Lorenzo Faravelli is already in the city of Aguascalientes to join his new club, Necaxa, from Cruz Azul. The transfer will be officially completed once Faravelli finishes his medical exams and signs his contract. Faravelli arrived in Mexico in the Apertura 2023 from Independiente del Valle. He played a total of 97 matches with Cruz Azul, contributing 12 goals and two assists.

According to Récord, Lorenzo Faravelli departed from Cruz Azul as part of the negotiation with Necaxa and to permit the registration of Agustín Palavecino.

In their pursuit of Agustín Palavecino, Cruz Azul responded to Necaxa's initial 8 million dollar asking price with an offer to send Lorenzo Faravelli, a 32-year-old Argentine midfielder, in an exchange. Faravelli, who was popular with fans when he arrived a year ago, has not maintained his prominent role under subsequent managers. Necaxa's management has not yet accepted the proposed swap, so the deal is not finalized. Necaxa's coach, Martín Varini, reportedly sees the potential transfer favorably as a way to strengthen his midfield. Faravelli's contract with Cruz Azul is set to expire on December 31, 2026. For the 2025/2026 season in the Liga MX Apertura, he made 16 appearances and provided 1 assist. His current market value is estimated by Transfermarkt to be €1.50m.
