Lionel Voufack, an 18-year-old German and Cameroonian left-sided defender from RB Leipzig's U19 team, is transferring to 1. FC Köln. At his new club, Voufack is initially assigned to the second team, where he is expected to be developed further. Köln's Technical Director, Lukas Berg, explained that it was noticeable from the beginning that Voufack strongly identified with the club's project and its concept for player development. Voufack commented that FC provides him the sporting opportunity to take his next steps and is a family-oriented club, which he stated completely convinced him in their talks. He added that he wants to work hard to become a regular player and believes his passionate style of play is a good fit for the team. During the 2025/2026 season, Voufack made 27 appearances and scored one goal in domestic youth competitions for RB Leipzig.
