Scottish-English left-back Liam McCarron, 25, could return to top-flight football as he has been given a trial with Scottish Premiership side St Johnstone. McCarron is a free agent after leaving National League side Boston United at the end of the 2025/26 campaign. It is understood that McCarron is heading to Perth this week, where he will attempt to impress St Johnstone head coach Simo Valakari. A successful trial could result in a contract for him in the Scottish Premiership.
