According to Bild, Leopold Querfeld's contract is expiring, and a decrease in his market value has reduced the possibility of selling him for a high transfer fee in the winter.

Leopold Querfeld is attracting interest on the transfer market. He had a release clause of 11 million euros, which would have cost Premier League clubs 15 million euros. The clause has now expired, according to BILD. His contract runs until 2027, and Union Berlin currently has two options: extend his contract or sell him. There is speculation that he may be cheaper for interested parties now that the clause has expired.

A potential transfer for Leopold Querfeld is said to face very high and fixed obstacles. According to information from BILD, Union could ask for a fee of 11 million euros for a transfer within the Bundesliga, while a sale to England could command a fee of 15 million euros.

Leopold Querfeld is a 22-year-old Austrian centre-back with a release clause below his market value and one year remaining on his contract at Union Berlin. There have been enquiries from the Bundesliga, Premier League, France, and Italy. He joined the club on 01/07/2024 and has 5 caps for Austria. His current market value is €18.00m, according to Transfermarkt.
