Leon-Oumar Wechsel joined third-division club Jahn Regensburg on loan. The loan was arranged quickly after he returned to Germany following several months in Poland.

Hannover 96 has announced that the loan of 20-year-old goalkeeper talent Leon-Oumar Wechsel to Polish second-division club GKS Tychy has been cancelled. He will instead be sent on loan to German third-division side Jahn Regensburg. According to the club's new managing director, Jörg Schmadtke, the loan to Poland did not work out as desired, and for this reason, it made sense to make a change at the start of preparations for the second half of the season. Wechsel has previously been part of the Germany U21 national team squad.
