Italian transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio mentioned that AC Milan had been linked with the player. Di Marzio also suggested that Goretzka might ultimately move to Turkey, providing the reason that clubs there pay a significant amount for players who are free agents. In addition to the interest from Italy, Beşiktaş, Juventus, and FC Barcelona have also been linked with the player.
