Sigma Ołomuniec recently confirmed the transfer of Léo Borges from Pogoń Szczecin.

Alex Haditaghi explained the reasons for Léo Borges's departure from Pogoń Szczecin to Sigma Ołomuniec. According to his explanation, an oral agreement was reached with Léo Borges in May 2026 for a three-year contract extension. After Borges hired new agents and presented significantly higher contract expectations, it was not possible to reach an agreement on an extension. Léo Borges had less than eight months left on his contract and would have been able to sign a contract with another club in about three months and leave Pogoń for free. The club received an opportunity to secure a significant financial return, maintain a fair sale, and reinvest the funds.

Leo Borges has transferred to Sigma Olomouc from Pogoń Szczecin and will become a Sigma player following the completion of final administrative details. According to the Olomouc club's website, Leo Borges stated that he anticipates a new challenge and will be prepared to help with what the coach requires of him. Sigma coach and general sports manager Pavel Hapal said the club believes Borges will help them and that they will be successful together. Hapal also stated that a left-sided defender was a position they had wanted to strengthen from the beginning of the transfer window and that they are very happy that Leo's arrival has been finalized.

Pogon Szczecin is in advanced talks, which are possibly in their final phase, regarding the potential sale of Léo Borges. The Czech club Sigma Olomouc wants to sign the defender. There is a strong possibility that the Brazilian will depart this week to join the Czech league representative. The transfer discussions are affected by Borges's contract situation, as his agreement with Pogon is valid only for the current season. This provides the club with its best chance to earn a fee. It is also suggested that the 25-year-old is not interested in formally extending his contract. Borges joined Pogon in July 2022, and his current market value is €1.20m, according to Transfermarkt. Maccabi Tel Aviv has also been linked with Borges.
