Maccabi Tel Aviv submitted offers to Pogoń Szczecin for two of their players, 25-year-old Brazilian left-back Léo Borges and Dimitrios Keramitsis. The proposals were not accepted, and the club's owner, Alex Haditaghi, did not intend to negotiate with the Israeli team. Pogoń did not plan to hold talks with the representative from the Israeli Premier League, and the matter was quickly concluded. Alex Haditaghi published an official statement on the subject. In it, he explained that he did not feel it was morally right for his club to conduct business with a club representing Israel, citing the suffering of innocent civilians in Gaza, Lebanon, Iran, and the entire region, along with what he termed the violent, genocidal, and inhumane actions of the Israeli state. He added that his responsibility as owner is not only to the club's financial interests but also to protecting its values, principles, and humanity. Léo Borges's contract expires on June 30, 2027. In the 2025/2026 Ekstraklasa season, he made 20 appearances and provided one assist. His current market value is €1.20m, according to Transfermarkt.
