Norwich City are looking to complete their January business by signing a player described as a ball-playing number six before the Monday 7pm deadline. Mainz's Lennard Maloney, a 26-year-old United States international, is one of the midfielders the club is aware of. Maloney, along with Vancouver's Sebastian Berhalter, was identified during Norwich's previous recruitment focus on defensive midfield profiles. The defensive midfielder joined Mainz in January 2025 and has a contract with the club until June 2028. He has made 13 Bundesliga appearances this season. His current market value is €3.50m, according to Transfermarkt.
