According to César Luis Merlo, Lautaro Giannetti is joining Newell’s as a free agent from Antalyaspor and will sign a 2-year contract after he passes a medical examination.

Newell's is in the final stage of negotiations to sign 32-year-old Argentine defender Lautaro Gianetti, awaiting his contract termination with Antalyaspor. Giannetti, who has four caps for Argentina's U20 team, joined the Turkish club in August 2025 and his contract expires in June 2027. During the 2025/2026 Süper Lig season, he made 29 appearances, scoring one goal and providing one assist. His current market value is €1.20m, according to Transfermarkt.
