Lado Akhalaia has been signed by Vaduz as one of their first two summer signings after their promotion to the Super League. The 23-year-old Moldovan and Romanian centre-forward arrives from German second-division club Greuther Fürth alongside teammate Juan Cabrera. Akhalaia, who joined Fürth in July 2025, did not play for the senior team in the past season but scored 13 goals in 29 games in the Regionalliga. The forward, who has two caps for the Moldova U21 team, previously played for the U17 and U19 teams of Inter Mailand and has a current market value of €100k, according to Transfermarkt. In a media release, sporting director Franz Burgmeier explained that with Akhalaia they are signing a very interesting striker who possesses a good combination of qualities. He added that the player is technically and physically strong, has a good finish, works extremely hard for the team, and that he was convinced Akhalaia will be a lively element in their offense.
