The opportunity for Wright arose after the club's recent signing, Trevor Carson, retired due to a serious knee injury. This left manager Nicky Clark seeking a new first-choice goalkeeper, as the club has no senior goalkeeper prepared for the League One campaign. Wright has been given an opportunity to secure a contract in Dumfries and has already played for the club in a Premier Sports Cup match against Kelty Hearts.
