According to Index.hr, despite Montpellier having an agreement with the Spanish club Almeria for Khalil Fayad, the player has decided to move to Split.

A source states that Montpellier had a full agreement with Spanish club Almeria for Khalil Fayad, but that a sudden change in circumstances overnight directed Fayad toward Bijeli (Hajduk Split).

UD Almería, a Spanish second-tier side, is pursuing the signing of 22-year-old Montpellier midfielder Khalil Fayad. The club faces competition from Widzew Łódź, a club from Poland's top league that has already reached an agreement with Montpellier for the transfer. Despite this development, Almería remains an option for the player, with a decision on his future expected either this evening or tomorrow morning. Fayad holds both Moroccan and French nationality, has a contract with Montpellier until June 30, 2027, and has three caps for the France U20 team. According to Transfermarkt, his current market value is €1.50m.
