KRC Genk has officially announced on its channels the arrival of Kevin Amaro from Liverpool Montevideo. Kevin Amaro has signed a contract for five seasons and was announced as the successor to Zakaria El Ouahdi. KRC Genk describes Amaro as an athletic and offensively oriented right-back with a distinct physical profile. Dimitri De Condé, Head of Football at KRC Genk, said that Kevin is a player who fits very well with the football identity that the club wants to express and also stated that Marcelo Bielsa called Amaro up three times for the Uruguay national team.

Genk is close to signing Right-Back Kevin Amaro from FC Liverpool Montevideo. The 22-year-old Uruguayan's name had not previously been linked with the club. The transfer is reportedly an anticipatory signing for the potential departure of Zakaria El Ouahdi. The deal for Amaro would involve a fee of around 3.5 million including bonuses. Amaro is a three-time international. The player is under contract with his current club until mid-2028 and is scheduled to undergo his medical tests early next week. Amaro joined Liverpool Montevideo in February 2024 and has a current Transfermarkt market value of €2.50m.
