Kerim Alajbegović Transfer from Red Bull Salzburg to Bayer 04 Leverkusen

Bild reports that Bayer Leverkusen can bring Kerim Alajbegovic back in the summer for six million euros via a buy-back clause, and that the club is already planning with him for next season, with the vice-champion expecting him to play a key role in the offensive lineup.

According to Krone.at, Alajbegovic, who is currently with Salzburg, is likely to return to Bayer Leverkusen in the summer because of a buy-back clause.

Sky reports that Bayer Leverkusen has decided not to exercise the buy-back option for Kerim Alajbegovic in January. The decision regarding a possible return in the summer, when Bayer Leverkusen would again have the opportunity to bring Alajbegovic back via a clause, will be made at a later date. In the summer, it is reported that Alajbegovic would cost Bayer Leverkusen eight million euros.

Kerim Alajbegovic stated in an interview with a Bosnian TV channel that he will remain in Salzburg until the summer. He also stated that Bayer Leverkusen will likely activate the buy-back clause, adding that it is not yet known if they will sell him immediately afterward. The buy-back clause is reportedly eight million euros. Alajbegovic joined Salzburg six months ago for two million euros.

According to Sky, the buy-back option for Kerim Alajbegovic is eight million euros, while it was previously believed to be five to six million euros. When Alajbegovic signed with Salzburg until 2029 in the last transfer window, Bayer secured a buy-back right which they could exercise. Leverkusen has continued to monitor Alajbegovic due to his performances.

Kerim Alajbegović is expected to return to Bayer Leverkusen from RB Salzburg in the summer, a move that is considered almost certain. The club has reportedly identified the 18-year-old winger as its first reinforcement for the next season. According to 'Sport Bild', Leverkusen intends to use the upcoming international break to advance its squad planning. The transfer will be made possible by a buy-back option set between five and six million euros, an increase from the two million euros Salzburg paid to acquire him from Leverkusen's U19 team last July. Although the buy-back fee would be lower in 2027, the German club is unlikely to wait that long. The player has also attracted attention from other clubs, with FC Porto, FC Chelsea, and Manchester United reportedly monitoring him. 'Sport Bild' suggests a loan to another Bundesliga club or a team in another top league is a possibility, should the four-time Bosnian international fail to secure an immediate breakthrough upon his return.
