SC Paderborn, the current fourth-placed team in the second division, has officially announced the signing of Kennedy Okpala. The 21-year-old German-Nigerian striker joins from Waldhof Mannheim half a year before his contract there was due to expire, signing a long-term contract with his new club. This season, Okpala has scored seven goals and provided three assists in 18 matches. Sporting director Sebastian Lange expressed his pleasure with the transfer, noting that Okpala is highly developable, fast, two-footed, and versatile in attack. Lange added that the club is very happy the player chose to advance his career with them and that he fits perfectly with the 'Paderborn way'. According to Transfermarkt, his current market value is €1.50m.
