Kees Sims Transfer from GAIS to Haugesund

2h ago

Goalkeeper Kees Sims, a 23-year-old New Zealand international, is being loaned from Gais to Haugesund for the remainder of the season to get more playing time. At Gais, he has primarily been a backup to Mergim Krasniqi and has played in only two Allsvenskan matches this season. Gais's technical director, Magnus Sköldmark, described the move as a very good opportunity for Sims to get valuable playing time in a team that is attempting to gain promotion in the OBOS-ligaen. Sköldmark also noted that Haugesund is currently third in the Norwegian second-division. Sims said he felt it was a fantastic opportunity to join a strong team in a good position with 11 matches left in the season, and added that he is happy to go to a club where he hopes to be able to play and develop as a player. Sims, who joined Gais in February 2024, has a contract until the end of 2028 and a current Transfermarkt market value of €300k.
