Karlo Letica is nearing a return to the Swiss Super League and is anticipated to become the new first-choice goalkeeper for Luzern. The club is looking for a new goalkeeper following a poor start to the season, and Letica is reportedly the leading candidate. The potential transfer is notable because Luzern had signed Simon Simoni from Eintracht Frankfurt less than a month ago to be their new first-choice goalkeeper, but significant errors in his opening games caused the club to search for another goalkeeper. Letica has been without a club since his contract with Lausanne-Sport ended at the beginning of July, allowing Luzern to acquire him without a transfer fee. Blick had also reported in March that Basel was considering Letica as a potential signing before they chose another target. If the move to Luzern is finalized, the 29-year-old Croatian is expected to become the starting goalkeeper immediately. Transfermarkt estimates his market value to be 1.5 million euros. The new contract with Luzern for the Croatian, who has not played for his national team, is expected to run until June 30, 2028.
