Karl Darlow, the 35-year-old Welsh and English former Newcastle United and Nottingham Forest goalkeeper, is out of contract at Leeds United at the end of this month and has not yet agreed to a new deal. He finished the season at Elland Road, establishing himself as Daniel Farke's number one and playing in their last 17 Premier League games. However, Leeds have been linked with moves for the Magpies' goalkeeper Nick Pope and Wolves' Sam Johnstone, which would make it difficult for Darlow to keep his place. The uncertainty surrounding his contract has created an opportunity for other clubs, with Hull City being a potential destination. Darlow previously played 12 games for Hull during a loan spell under Liam Rosenior's tenure in the 2022/23 campaign and it appeared likely he would return that summer before the club opted for Ryan Allsop. It is suggested that a player of Darlow's calibre and experience would be a sensible addition for Hull to provide competition and add to their homegrown quota. The Welsh international, who has 15 caps for his country, made a total of 22 appearances in the Premier League during the 2025/2026 season.
