Real Valladolid announced on Friday the arrival of 25-year-old Kaj de Rooij. De Rooij signed a four-season contract in Spain. His contract with PEC Zwolle was not extended, resulting in his departure this summer. Real Valladolid currently plays in the second division, but has played in La Liga for five of the last eight years.

Kaj de Rooij will move from PEC Zwolle to Real Valladolid this summer on a free transfer. The 25-year-old Dutch left winger, whose contract with Zwolle expires after this season, will sign a deal in Spain lasting until mid-2030. De Rooij had previously decided to use his impending free agent status, a choice that was partly influenced by interest from Spain. He joined PEC Zwolle in January 2024. According to Transfermarkt, de Rooij has a current market value of €1.00m. In the current Eredivisie season, de Rooij has scored 6 goals and provided 5 assists in 27 appearances.
