Kaishu Sano's teammate, Danny da Costa, said he hopes to have Sano as a teammate for some time, but that it is uncertain how things will develop. It is suggested that there is no serious expectation in Mainz that Sano will still be there next season, despite him having a contract until 2028 and no release clause. The club expects a bidding war from mega top clubs and is targeting at least 60 million euros in transfer fees. This fee is considered realistic at this time.
