Kacper Sommerfeld has joined Stal Mielec, signing a contract that will keep him at the club until June 30, 2027, with an option to extend for an additional 12 months. The 21-year-old defensive midfielder, who emerged from Lech Poznań's youth academy, previously played for Pogoń Grodzisk Mazowiecki, where he contributed to their promotion to the II liga and subsequently to the Ekstraklasa's second division. Stal Mielec recruited Sommerfeld as part of their strategy to enhance their squad following their relegation from Poland's top league, having ended the season five points away from safety. Under the leadership of Ivan Đurđević, the team is focused on rebuilding with the goal of returning to the Ekstraklasa. Although Sommerfeld did not make an appearance for Lech Poznań's first team, he is anticipated to infuse new energy and potential into Stal Mielec's midfield.
