Justin Bijlow leaving Feyenoord?
Feyenoord is open to selling one of their goalkeepers, Justin Bijlow or Timon Wellenreuther, as they are not satisfied with the current situation of having two equally strong first-choice goalkeepers. The club wants clarity in the goalkeeper position and is willing to let one of them leave. There is no preference expressed by Robin van Persie, leaving it up to interested clubs to bring clarity.
Justin Bijlow had been poised to make a move to Southampton in the Premier League in August. He had emotionally said goodbye to Feyenoord supporters as he was under the impression that he was departing to join Southampton. However, the transfer fell through due to Bijlow not passing the medical examination. It is indicated that Southampton took into account his medical history and opted to pursue another goalkeeper, Aaron Ramsdale. Despite this setback, Bijlow went back to Feyenoord and is not presently looking to transfer to another club unless it would be a substantial advancement in his career.
ESPN reporter Sinclair Bischop mentions that it seems only a matter of time before Bijlow makes the move to Southampton FC.
