According to Globo.com, Atlanta United has confirmed the signing of defender Júnior Alonso. The Paraguayan defender is a former Atlético-MG player. He joins Atlanta United after playing in the World Cup, where he was eliminated in the round of 16. At his presentation, Alonso said he is very happy and content at Atlanta and is already waiting to train and be with the team.

Junior Alonso has signed a contract with Atlanta United until June 2029, according to César Luis Merlo. He arrived as a free agent following his spell at Atlético Mineiro.
