Voetbalprimeur.nl reports that Juninho Bacuna is officially joining FC Volendam on loan from the Turkish club Gaziantep until the summer. Bacuna signed with Gaziantep last summer and played nine matches in Turkey, but was not a regular starter. He last played in a cup match in December of the previous year. Technical director Patrick Busby stated that securing Juninho is a compliment for FC Volendam. Busby also said that the transfer could not have been realized without the efforts of Juninho and Gaziantep. He explained that Bacuna had less playing time in Turkey due to a changed system and that with the approaching World Cup, this move is a win-win situation for all parties.

Juninho Bacuna's name has been linked with FC Volendam. The club's trainer, Rick Kruys, confirmed they are looking to sign a midfielder but stated he could not yet reveal the name. The player is reported to be the 28-year-old Curacaoan-Dutch international Bacuna. A former FC Groningen and Rangers FC player, Bacuna is currently under contract at the Turkish club Gaziantep. He has made nine appearances in the Süper Lig this season, two of which were starts. He joined his current club in July 2025 and has earned 45 caps for the Curaçao national team, scoring 13 goals. Transfermarkt currently estimates his market value to be €2.20m.
