Récord reports that Julio González has been transferred to León. González is a 35-year-old free agent who previously had a brief spell with Puebla. The club's management was looking for a goalkeeper with Liga MX experience to fill the vacancy left by Jordan García and considered González to have the ideal profile. González has also played for clubs such as Santos Laguna, Veracruz, and Pumas. The former Mexican national team player was not included in the new project at Puebla, which is led by Spanish sporting director Albert Espigares. This decision was reinforced by the arrival of Daniel Gutiérrez, a former Mazatlán goalkeeper, for the Clausura 2026.
