Atlético Nacional has completed the purchase option for 70% of Juan Manuel Zapata's rights from Envigado FC. Journalist Pipe Sierra reported that the investment by Atlético Nacional amounted to a total of 1.2 million dollars. The club is planning to negotiate a contract with Zapata, aiming for an agreement that extends until June 2028. Envigado continues to hold 30% of Zapata's rights, which could potentially result in significant future earnings if Zapata is transferred again. Currently competing in both the Copa Libertadores and Liga BetPlay, Atlético Nacional is concentrating on maintaining a robust squad to support their long-term sporting strategy. The club's management intends to personally oversee the contract negotiations with Zapata to ensure his commitment for the proposed contract duration.
