Valeriu Iftime stated that Romanian international Jovan Markovic, a 25-year-old centre-forward, no longer has a future at Botoșani. Iftime said that he thinks Markovic's time at FC Botoșani is over, based on how the player is today. Marković joined the club in July 2026 and his contract is set to expire in June 2027. He has been capped three times for Romania. His current Transfermarkt valuation is €350k.
