Josh Doig stated he was delighted to stay in Italy after being linked with a move away from Sassuolo. He has been with Sassuolo for two years, moving from Verona in a £5 million deal after a transfer to Marseille collapsed.

Doig has yet to win a first cap and could be made to wait a while longer after his £4.5million January move backfired. Doig had previously attracted interest from the likes of Marseille, Roma and Lazio but as things stand, looks set to play in Italy's second tier.
