Motherwell have signed former Wolves midfielder Joe Hodge from Portuguese side Tondela for an undisclosed fee. The 23-year-old Republic of Ireland international has one cap for his country and had loan spells at QPR and Huddersfield. He spent a season in the Portuguese top flight after being part of Manchester City's youth system. His current Transfermarkt market value is €700k. Manager Alfred Johansson told Motherwell’s website that Hodge is an excellent footballer who fits the profile the club wanted. Johansson also noted that the player had indicated from the start of the process that he wanted to join. Hodge stated that he had been eager to complete the deal, feeling the team was a perfect match for his abilities.
