Trabzonspor has opened talks with José Sá, a 33-year-old Portuguese goalkeeper from Wolves. Initial discussions have been positive and negotiations are ongoing. The Turkish club is assessing alternative options while awaiting a decision from their primary target, Andre Onana of Manchester United. Manager Fatih Tekke is understood to want an experienced and consistent goalkeeper, though an agreement with Sá has not yet been reached. Another Turkish team, Besiktas, had also identified the Portuguese player as a target in April. It was reported that Besiktas preferred a scenario where he would terminate his contract rather than the club paying a transfer fee. Sá's contract with Wolves, who were recently relegated to the Championship, is entering its final year. The Portugal international has 5 caps, joined the club in July 2021, and made 23 appearances in the Premier League last season. His current market value is estimated by Transfermarkt to be €3.50m.
