José Martínez Transfer from Corinthians to São Paulo
São Paulo is interested in José Martínez as part of a compensation in negotiations involving Alisson, and his situation is similar to that of Raniele. According to ESPN, the Venezuelan player caused some internal discomfort at Corinthians due to his delay in reporting for the 2026 season. Corinthians attributed the delay to his quick departure from Venezuela during the crisis with the United States.
Amid ongoing talks with Corinthians for their midfielder Alisson, São Paulo is considering Corinthians' José Martínez, 31, as a potential replacement. Corinthians' pursuit of Alisson is reportedly a strong request from their coach, Dorival Júnior, and São Paulo is willing to consider their rival's offer. While São Paulo's management is interested in the Venezuelan player, they have not yet taken any concrete steps for the transfer. This consideration comes after a previous attempt by São Paulo to arrange a swap for Raniele was rejected by both the player and Corinthians a few weeks ago. Martínez, who has 41 caps for Venezuela, joined Corinthians in August 2024 and has a contract until the end of 2027. His current market value is estimated by Transfermarkt at €2.00m.
