Gillekens is currently a key player for Wehen Wiesbaden in the German third division, and his club, where he is under contract until mid-2028, would like to keep him. A potential promotion for Wiesbaden could lead to the defender staying. The defender joined Wiesbaden in July 2025 and has one cap for the Belgium U18 team.
