Gillekens joined third-division team Wehen Wiesbaden on a free transfer from Francs Borains last summer and is a key player. Second Bundesliga clubs Arminia Bielefeld, Paderborn, Eintracht Braunschweig, and Karlsruher SC are also interested in Gillekens because of his performances. Wehen Wiesbaden wants to keep the defender, who is under contract until mid-2028, and a potential promotion for the club could be a factor in him staying.
