The defender is capable of playing on both wings and was trained at PSG. He arrived in Portugal in 2020 to play for Vitória de Guimarães before joining Gil Vicente in 2024. At Gil Vicente, he played 20 matches across two seasons. In the 2025/2026 season, he made 18 appearances and provided 1 assist in the Liga Portugal. The move to Torreense, a Liga 2 side, will give Mutombo his first opportunity to play in European competitions, as Torreense qualified for the UEFA Europa League league phase by winning the Taça de Portugal last year.
