VfL Wolfsburg is nearing the signing of 22-year-old Ghanaian centre-back Jonas Adjetey from FC Basel. An agreement between the clubs has reportedly been reached, and final talks with the player are close to being completed, though a medical check has not yet occurred. A transfer fee of approximately ten million euros will be paid to the Swiss club. Adjetey, a seven-time national player, is anticipated to sign a long-term contract and had also drawn interest from FC Bologna, Wolverhampton Wanderers, RC Lens, and some Turkish clubs before choosing to move to the Bundesliga. Adjetey joined FC Basel in August 2022, and his current contract is valid until June 2028. Transfermarkt estimates his market value at €7.00m.
