As part of building a squad aiming for promotion to Serie A under new coach Bernardo Corradi, Sampdoria's management is monitoring Estoril's 29-year-old Portuguese attacking midfielder, João Carvalho. Carvalho's name was among the initial targets discussed in a meeting between the coach, CEO Sport Jesper Fredberg, and sporting director Americo Branco. The club is considering the player, who finished last season with 6 goals and 12 assists in 33 Liga Portugal appearances, as one of several profiles for its offensive department. The former Portugal U21 international joined Estoril in August 2024 and is under contract until June 2027, with a current market value estimated by Transfermarkt at €5.00m.
